The goal of WHOI’s Summer Student Fellowship programme is to give deserving students a valuable first-hand introduction to oceanographic engineering, marine policy, or oceanography research.

Applications must be completed and submitted by February 5 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Decisions will be sent to applicants by the middle of March.

The offer of a post at this REU site must be accepted or rejected by March 15th at the latest for all students. 

Before March 15th, any student who receives an offer and is requested to accept or reject it should get in touch with Elizabeth Rom, the director of the NSF Division of Ocean Sciences REU Program.

Any science or engineering subject, including but not limited to biology, chemistry, engineering, geology, geophysics, mathematics, meteorology, physics, oceanography, and marine policy, is open to applicants.

Two reference letters from instructors or other people who are acquainted with the applicant’s academic background (you can list up to three recommenders in total).
